Jonkanu style of music used in the Independence celebrations on the 21st of September. this style of music originated in Belize at the time of slavery but has spread throughout Garifuna culture.

Mongulu can be seen as a representative for the music that most Garifuna people listen to. It has been modernised whilst still keeping traditional Garifuna characteristics.
